The FG-ASUU debacle

Members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities have accused the Federal Government of insincerity in its bid to resolve the crisis which has kept public universities shut for over five months.
Bamidele Idowu: What is going on? What is ASUU demanding and what is govt’s position? Is it too much for the government to sign their resolutions with ASUU in black and white? Why is govt scared of signing if there is no skeleton in its cupboard? Are there no better ways FG can deal with ASUU without noise making? Is this how government should be run? It’s a shame on everyone . If all we can do is to blow grammar without any positive action. Shame! Let us all be objective, please.
Oguegbunam: I support ASUU even if its demands are selfish. There is no doubt that the education sector in the country is stinking. Who will save our children from these heartless politicians who continue to destroy everything good in Nigeria? I used to support Jonathan before but this ASUU issue has clearly shown that the President and his co-travellers do not mean well for the future of the rest of us.
Eric Ofodirinwa: ASUU is playing a very idiotic politics with the academic destiny and future of Nigerian students. Asking for billions of naira is not a struggle; it is pure harlotry, wrapped in trade union blackmail. We are all watching to see where the ‘nose hair is growing to’.
